There are many benefits to using OdataLink instead of the MYOB for Excel addin.

✓ Access MYOB data in Excel 2010 or higher
OdataLink allows you to access your MYOB data using Excel 2010 and 2013 (with the Microsoft Power Query addin) as well as Excel 2016, 2019 or Office 365.
In contrast, the MYOB for Excel addin is only compatible with Excel 2016 or higher, and some versions of Excel 2013.
✓ Access all MYOB endpoints
OdataLink currently includes all endpoints (90+) available via the MYOB Api.
In contrast, MYOB for Excel can only retrieve the following endpoints:
- Accounts
- AccountRegister
- JournalTransactions
- Customers
- Suppliers

- Purchases.
✓ Access to UID for accurate joins
MYOB for Excel does not include all fields available in the endpoints it does provide.
Particularly, it does not include the UID (database identifiers) in order to accurately join data between endpoints.

OdataLink works directly within Power Query, providing you all the advantage of using Power Query and Power Pivot (used by both Excel and Power BI).
For example., any filters and sorts created within Power Query are sent directly to MYOB for processing, ensuring the most optimal performance.
